Troy is the county seat of Pike County located in South-Central Alabama located along U.S. Highway 231 just forty-five minutes south of Montgomery, the state's capital city. Troy in within three hours of sites of interest such as the Gulf Coast beaches, Atlanta, Birmingham, Mobile, Destin, and Panama City.

Troy was originally known as Deer Stand Hill (a Native American hunting ground) which was first settled in 1824. It was later known as Zebulon and then Centreville before being name Troy in 1838. Click here if you would like to read more about the history of our wonderful city.
